Moss Wood ‘Moss Wood Vineyard’ Margaret River Chardonnay 2010

Chardonnay from Australia - Western Australia
Review Date : 13-Apr-2012
WBP and fully barrel-fermented to 14.5% alc. in French barriques, the wine aged 17 months in oak with lees contact and 30% MLF. Bright straw-yellow colour, this has a hugely concentrated and dense nose with rich and complex savoury mealy, nutty fruit and over the top oaking, nearly dominating the fruit, all expressed with great firmness. Full-bodied, this is immensely concentrated and densely packed with mouthfilling flavours of savoury, spicy, citrus fruit with mealy overtones. The fruit complexity is nearly overwhelmed by intense flavours of vanilla and oak that add to the concentration and power. There is a rounded feel to the texture, but this has excellent acidity, and a long, mealy finish. The oak will integrate, as shown by previous vintages.  19.0/20  Apr 2012  RRP $90.00
