Moss Wood ‘Moss Wood Vineyard’ Margaret River Chardonnay 2007

Chardonnay from Australia - Western Australia
Review Date : 13-Apr-2012
Fully barrel-fermented to 14.5% alc., and aged 11 months in 100% new French oak barriques, with lees stirring and approx. 30% MLF. Light golden straw-yellow colour, this has a very full, firm, fine and tightly bound nose with white burgundy style, showing mealy, nutty fruit and oak, revealing aromatic layers of citrus, minerals, and oxidative complexities. Elegant, but concentrated with building power, the palate combines interwoven and seamless flavours of citrus fruits, mealy, nutty elements, toast and smoke. Beginning to soften and integrate, the acidity is still expressed with clarity, and carry a very long finish with powerful, toasty, mealy flavours. Drinking well now, this will continue to do so for another 5 years easily.  19.5-/20  Apr 2012  RRP $82.00
