Morton Estate ‘White Label’ Hawke’s Bay Chardonnay 2009

Chardonnay from New Zealand - Hawke's Bay
Review Date : 01-Aug-2011
Hawke's Bay fruit, fermented to 14.0% and matured 10 months in French oak, with lees stirring and 30% MLF. Bright straw-yellow colour with a pale edge. This has a softly full nose of preserved citrus fruits and nectarine with balanced nutty and mealy elements providing complexity interest. An elegant, medium-weighted wine, this shows reasonably intense flavours of citrus, tropical and stonefruits well-balanced by nutty oak. The flavours are up-front, and integrated, with moderate layering. An accessible and softly textured wine, it has a dry expression that provides restraint. Match with seafood, poultry and pork over the next 3-4 years. 17.5+/20 Jul 2011 RRP $16.30
