Morton Estate ‘Black Label’ Marlborough Pinot Noir 2010

Pinot Noir from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 02-Dec-2011
Fruit from the ‘Stone Creek' vineyard fermented to 14.0% alc., the wine aged 10 months in French oak barriques. Very full and dark purple-hued ruby-red colour with black hues. This has a full, intense nose of well-ripened, savoury raspberry fruit aromas with spicy, nutty oak with a little resin showing. Some raisin and dark plum nuances add nuances to the bouquet. Full-bodied with some alcoholic power and warmth, the fruit richness fills the palate with flavours of raspberry liqueur and dark plums. The mouthfeel is rounded and soft with moderate acidity and supple tannins underlining the fruit that lead to a mildly drying finish. A ripe, flavoursome wine with rounded textures, this will match most red meat dishes over the next 4+ years. 17.0+/20 RRP $34.95
