Morepork Northland Pinot Gris 2018

Pinot Gris from New Zealand - Northland & Auckland
Review Date : 12-Sep-2018
Bright, light golden-hued yellow colour with some depth, lighter on the rim. The nose is softly full with gentle aromas of yellow stonefruits with notes of apricots harmoniously entwined with yellow florals and some nutty and honeysuckle notes. This is up-front and very accessible, Off-dry to taste and medium-bodied, the flavours of yellow stonefruits, apricots and honey are gently mouthfilling and show with a little unctuousness. The fruit is up-front and reveals pear notes, and the wine flows smoothly along a soft lne with soft, balanced acidity. The wines carries along a very light phenolic-textured line, leading to a honied finish. This is a soft and gentle, up-front off-dry Pinot Gris with yellow stonefruits, apricots, honey and pear flavours, showing some smoothness. Serve with Asian and Middle Eastern fare over the next 2-3 years. Fruit from the ‘Morepork’ vineyard, fermented in stainless-steel to 12.5% alc. and 7.0 g/L RS. 220 cases made. 17.0+/20 Sep 2018 RRP $24.00
