Montsablé Pays d’Oc Chardonnay 2014

Chardonnay from France - Other
Review Date : 21-Jan-2016
Bright straw-yellow colour with light golden hues, pale on the rim. The nose is softly full with aromas of ripe yellow stonefruits with subtle notes of citrus and tropical fruits melded with gentle nuances of flinty lees and mineral elements. Light-medium bodied, the palate features fine, but intense flavours of yellow stonefruits enriched by tropical fruit elements and detailed with flint and mineral notes. The fruit forms a soft, textural core with balancing phenolic dryness, and the mouthfeel is crisp with good acid tension. The wine leads to a dry, lingering finish with flavours of tropical fruit and pineapple. This is an elegant and soft, tropical fruited Chardonnay with flinty interest, a fresh mouthfeel and dry line. Serve with seafood, poultry and pork over the next 3 years. Chardonnay fruit from the Puisserguier vineyards in Saint Chinian, Languedoc, fermented to 12.5% alc., a portion of the wine aged on lees and 20% aged 3 months in French oak. 17.5-/20 Jan 2016 RRP $19.95
