Montford Estate Sauvignon Blanc 2020, Marlborough

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 02-Oct-2020
Bright, even, light straw-yellow with a golden-lime hue. The bouquet is vibrant and elegantly presented, well-packed with aromas of gooseberries, green apples, limes melded with fennel fragrances. Light-bodied, soft nuances of green apples, gooseberries and limes have purity, enlivened by fennel pollen and a light dusting of white pepper on the finish. The wine has a fine-textured line, smooth-flowing with lifted white pepper across the palate; supported by fresh acidity, brings to a clean and refreshing finish. Match with linguine vongole and pork scratchings over the next 2 years. Fruit from 76% Wairau Bar Home Vineyard, Wairau Valley and 14% Redwood Hills, Awatere Valley. Cool-fermented in stainless steel to 13.5% alc, 3.5 g/l RS. Vegan friendly. 17/20 pts Oct 2020 RRP $17.95
