Montechez ‘Reserve’ Mendoza Chardonnay 2013

Chardonnay from Argentina
Review Date : 10-Jul-2014
Bright, even straw-yellow colour with light lemony hues. The nose is stylish and elegantly restrained with fresh aromas of citrus and stonefruits and delicate creamy, nutty oak notes providing detail. This has aromatic purity and finesse. Dry and medium-bodied, well-proportioned and finely concentrated flavours of citrus fruits and stonefruits are entwined with subtle nutty barrel elements. The mouthfeel is fresh and poised with bright, lacy acidity and the palate follows a very fine-textured line. As the wine flows, the flavours recede to a light, citrussy finish with mineral and nutty nuances. This is a fresh, elegant and refined, stonefruit-flavoured Chardonnay with subtle oaking. Serve with seafood and poultry over the next 4+ years. Fruit from 1050 m.a.s.l., fermented to 13.3% alc., the wine aged 6 months in French and American oak. 17.5+/20 Jul 2014 RRP $28.00
