Montechez ‘Reserve’ Mendoza Chardonnay 2011

Chardonnay from Argentina
Review Date : 05-Feb-2013
Bright straw-yellow colour with green-gold hues, lighter on edge. The nose is elegant with an aromatic melange of white stonefruits and citrus fruit intermixed with minerals, flint and oxidative nutty notes. Medium-full bodied, restrained flavours of white stonefruits and nuts are supported by fresh, crisp, lacy acidity to provide a fine linear palate line. The mouthfeel is softly refreshing and has good energy. Oaking is very subtle and unobtrusive. Lifted citrus and minerally elements emerge to combine with nutty flavours on a moderately sustained finish. This is a crisp and elegant, dry Chardonnay with nutty flavours. Serve with first courses over the next 3-4 years. 100% Chardonnay a site at1050 m.a.s.l. from the Uco Valley, fermented to 13.9% alc., the wine aged 4 months in French and American oak barrels. 16.5+/20 Feb 2013 RRP $27.00
