Montana ‘Tom’ Hawke’s Bay 1998

Merlot from New Zealand - Hawke's Bay
Review Date : 07-May-2016
Still very youthful in appearance, black-red colour, near impenetrable. The fruit is rich and ripe, with a sweet robustness to the expression. Density and concentration are its highlights and features, the mouthfeel surprisingly soft and accessible. The acidity is restrained, contributing to the roundness, but there is still a mass of extract, fruit weight and tannin. The fruit plushness and opulence is more than a match for the structure and carries the wine with power. This will develop over the next 8-10+ years. (Also listed under Church Road 'TOM' Merlot/Cabernet 1998) 18.5+/20 Nov 2013 RRP $N/A
