Montana ‘Reserve’ Hawke’s Bay Rosé 2017

Rose from New Zealand - Hawke's Bay
Review Date : 20-Sep-2017
Pale salmon pink with some depth, lighter on the edge. The nose is fresh with light, but positive aromas strawberries, quince and savoury stonefruits, along with red florals. The aromas build more depth with aeration. Dry to taste, the palate has a good core of savoury strawberries, quince, stonefruits and florals. The palate is subtly sweet and rich, balanced by gently mouthwatering acidity. This has good freshness. The wine flows along a very fine-textured line, leading to a light, lingering finish of strawberries and quince. This is a refreshing dry rosé with sweet strawberry and quince flavours along with red florals, on a gentle, thirst-quenching palate with fresh acidity. Serve as an aperitif, with canapes, dim sum and tapas over the next 2 years. A blend of 55% Merlot, 30% Pinot Gris, 9% Syrah, the remainder a mix of Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec and Tempranillo, all from Hawke’s Bay, cool-fermented to 13.0% and 9.2 g/L RS. 17.0-/20 Sep 2017 RRP $16.99
