Monowai Hawke’s Bay Sauvignon Blanc 2015

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Hawke's Bay
Review Date : 02-Dec-2015
Estate fruit cool-fermented to 12.0% alc. and 7.5 g/L RS, a portion of the wine aged on lees. Bright, even, pale straw-yellow colour with slight green hues. The nose is light, fresh, clean and pure with aromas of white florals, limes, gooseberries and subtle passionfruit elements. This is finely presented, tightly bound and delicately detailed. Dryish to taste and light-bodied, the palate is elegant and slender, featuring up-front flavours of gooseberries and passionfruit with limes and herbs. The mouthfeel is steely, mouthwatering and refreshing from the brisk and zesty acidity, and the palate follows a tightly bound, linear core showing some residual sugar. The sweetness carries the wine to a light, lingering, poised finish of gooseberries and passionfruit. This is a light, up-front and slender Sauvignon Blanc with gooseberry and passionfruit flavours carried by some sweetness. Serve with Pacific Rim fare over the next 2 years. 16.5/20 Dec 2015 RRP $20.00
