Bright, even, straw-yellow colour with lemon-green hues. The bouquet is refreshingly bright and elegantly penetrating with aromas of citrus fruits along with spicy, nutty oak melded with creamy barrel-ferment elements and lemon-curd and butterscotch MLF. The aromatics are youthful and steely-fresh with cut. Dry and medium-full bodied, the palate is crisp, fresh and zesty with racy acidity alongside bright citrus fruit flavours. Layers of mealy, nutty and spicy oak show with creamy barrel work and butterscotch MLF. The mouthfeel has tension and energy and the palate flows along a fine, dry-textured line that leads to a bracing finish with citrus and nutty flavours. This is a crisp, steely, refreshing Chardonnay with citrussy fruit and creamy oak and MLF layers. Serve with seafood, poultry and pork over the next 3-4 years. 60% barrel-fermented, undergoing MLF and aged in barrel, and 40% tank-fermented and aged on lees, the wine at 13.5% alc. 17.5/20 Dec 2015 RRP $20.00
