Monowai Crownthorpe Hawke’s Bay Sauvignon Blanc 2013

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Hawke's Bay
Review Date : 10-Mar-2014
Brilliant, very pale straw-yellow colour with slight lemon-green hues. The nose is light with delicately clean and pure aromas of grassy, gooseberry fruit along with fresh herb notes and a suggestion of minerally lees elements. Dryish to taste and light-bodied, light flavours of gooseberries and grass are carried by crisp, steely acidity and a very light, textural line. This is straightforward and flows smoothly to a clean, light, fading finish. This is a clean, light-fruited Sauvignon Blanc with purity and a smooth mouthfeel. Serve as an aperitif and with shellfish over the next 2 years. Estate fruit cool-fermented in tank to 12.0% alc. and 8 g/L RS, a portion of the wine aged on lees. 16.0+/20 Mar 2014 RRP $16.00
