Monowai Crownthorpe Hawke’s Bay Pinot Noir 2013

Pinot Noir from New Zealand - Hawke's Bay
Review Date : 30-Mar-2015
Hand-picked fruit given a cold soak and fermented to 13.0% alc., the wine aged 18 months in 20% new oak, 90% French and 10% American. Moderately deep ruby-red colour with lighter garnet hues on rim. The nose is light with fresh, primary fruit aromas of dark raspberries along with subtle herb and nutty oak notes, and a thread of minerally reduction. Medium-bodied, the palate features light, but lively and juicy raspberry and dark red cherry fruit flavours, along with subtle dark herbal detail. This has a finely concentrated core and line with supple tannin textures and refreshing acidity. The fruit is up-front and uncomplicated, carrying and receding to a light finish. This is a fresh and bright, elegant and uncomplicated Pinot Noir with balanced, supple tannins. Serve with tuna and salmon, pasta and poultry over the next 4 years. 16.5+/20 Mar 2015 RRP $25.00
