Monowai Crownthorpe Hawke’s Bay Pinot Gris 2014

Pinot Gris from New Zealand - Hawke's Bay
Review Date : 30-Mar-2015
Full, light straw-yellow colour with blush hues, pale edged. This has a fresh and delicate nose of white and yellow stonefruits entwined with subtle notes of pears, spices, florals and honeysuckle. Off-dry to taste and medium-bodied, elegantly presented and delicately luscious flavours of stonefruits and honeysuckle are lifted by exotic florals. The mouthfeel is fresh with fine acidity and soft in texture, the palate rounded with good weight and vinosity. The wine flows easily to a light, aromatic finish with floral nuances. This is a light and accessible off-dry Pinot Gris with a fresh, balanced mouthfeel. Serve with Thai, Japanese and Vietnamese cuisine over the next 2+ years. Fruit cool-fermented in stainless-steel to 13.0% alc. and 8 g/L RS, the wine aged 6 weeks on lees, undergoing batonnage. 16.5/20 Mar 2015 RRP $20.00
