Monowai Crownthorpe Hawke’s Bay Pinot Gris 2013

Pinot Gris from New Zealand - Hawke's Bay
Review Date : 10-Mar-2014
Bright, light copper colour with a distinct blush, paler on rim. The nose is fresh with steely yellow stonefruit aromas that unfold subtle nutty notes and hints of honeysuckle. Off-dry to taste, gentle flavours of honey and yellow stonefruits sit on a soft, rounded palate. The flavours flow smoothly, enlivened by fresh acidity, revealing some savoury, bitter nutty detail. As the wine carries to the finish, honey and floral nuances emerge. This is an off-dry, gently flavoured Pinot Gtis with a smooth mouthfeel. Match with mild Asian fare over the next 2-3 years. Estate fruit cool-fermented in stainless-steel to 12.0% alc. and 9.9 g/L RS, a portion of the wine undergoing batonnage. 16.5-/20 Mar 2014 RRP $20.00
