Mondillo Central Otago Riesling 2016

Riesling from New Zealand - Otago
Review Date : 12-Oct-2016
Bright, very pale straw-yellow colour with slight green hues, near colourless on the rim. The nose is very elegant and concentrated with intense aromas of lime and lemonade with exotic white florals and refined, chalky, mouthwatering mineral elements. This has depth and aromatic penetration. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, the palate is refined and tightly bound with concentrated flavours of limes and lemons entwined with exotic florals. This has a beautifully packed core with very fine fruit extraction and textures, balanced by fresh, lacy acidity. This flows with good linearity and carries to an elegant, lingering finish with delicate floral and citrus nuances. This is a refined, dry Riesling with lime and exotic floral flavours, fine textures and fresh, lacy acidity. Serve as an aperitif and with Asian fare over the next 4-5 years. Fruit from the ‘Mondillo’ vineyard, Bendigo, WBP and cool-fermented in stainless-steel to 13.0% alc. and 7.5 g/L RS, and pH 3.10. 18.5/20 Oct 2016 RRP $29.00
