Moncellier Marlborough Pinot Gris 2011

Pinot Gris from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 29-Jun-2011
Bright, very pale straw-yellow colour, fresh pear-drop aromas with elements of ripe stonefruits, honey and spice nuances fill the bouquet. Off-dry on palate, this has soft, honeyed pear and lifted floral flavours with good weight. The textures are soft and rounded, and the mouthfilling presence of the wine is enhanced by moderate acidity. Up-front, well-balanced and very positive with good drive, the wine finishes with an attractive sweetness. Fruit from the ‘Ellin' family vines on the Wairau Valley floor, cool-fermented to 13.5% alc., with 5.1 g/L rs. Serve with Asian cuisine over the next 3-4+ years. 18.0/20 Jun 2011 RRP $19.95
