MOMO Marlborough Chardonnay 2013

Chardonnay from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 08-Jul-2014
Bright, light golden-yellow colour. The nose is full and broad with bold aromas of ripe citrus fruit in a rich amalgam of creamy barrel-ferment and buttery MLF notes and masses of sweet vanilla. Medium-bodied, full, open and mouthfilling flavours of ripe citrus and tropical fruits are melded with layers of cream and butter, infused with sweet vanilla and nuts. The palate is sweet, luscious and rounded, and underlined by zesty and racy acidity, and a grainy, phenolic, textured line balancing the richness. The wine flows to a long, textured finish with creamy and nutty nuances. This is an ‘old school’ creamy and buttery Chardonnay with plenty of sweet vanilla lift and a racy, textured line. Match with seafood, poultry and pork over the next 3+ years. Hand-picked fruit from the ‘Home’ and ‘Raupo Creek’ vineyards, barrel-fermented by indigenous yeasts to 13.0% alc., the wine aged 10 months in seasoned French oak barriques. Certified BioGro organic. 17.5-/20 Jul 2014 RRP $25.99
