Moet & Chandon ‘Rosé Imperial’ Champagne NV

Sparkling Wine from France - Champagne
Review Date : 17-Apr-2011
Full, even, peach-pink in colour, with a persistent, fine bead, this has a full, soft nose of ripe, soft red berry fruits, some savoury, cooked red fruits and delicate yeasty autolysis aromas. Dry on palate, this is soft and open with good breadth, the red fruit flavours sitting on a softly textured background with gentle autolysis. The fruit sweetness is a feature, and carries through to a moderately sustained finish. 40-50% Pinot Noir, 10% being still red wine, 30-40% Pinot Meunier, 10% being still red wine, and 10-20% Chardonnay. 20-30% of the blend is red wine. 9 g/L dosage. A wine that will match firm-flesh seafood and lighter red meat dishes.  Apr 2011
