Brilliant, pale lemon-yellow colour with slight green hues. The nose is initially delicate and shy, but develops with volume to show apricot, citrus, yellow floral and intense ginger aromas, along with subtle herbal and musk notes. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, bright apricot, ginger and exotic floral flavours feature with some richness and a suggestion of unctuousness to the mouthfeel. The acidity is racy and slippery, and lends a crisp linearity to the palate. The flavours flow with zestiness to a sustained, smooth finish of exotic tropical fruits, spices and ginger. This is an elegant, smooth flowing, racy Viognier with prominent ginger and apricot flavours. Match with Asian seafood and poultry dishes over the next 2-3+ years. Fruit from the company’s vineyards in the Gimblett Gravels, Te Awanga and the Dartmoor Valley, cool-fermented in stainless-steel to 13.5% alc. and 4 g/L rs. 17.5+/20 Apr 2013 RRP $19.50
