Moana Park Hawke’s Bay Pinot Gris 2014

Pinot Gris from New Zealand - Hawke's Bay
Review Date : 11-Aug-2014
Bright straw-yellow colour with light golden hues, lighter on rim. The nose is full with rich and ripe aromas of yellow stonefruits with savoury apricot kernels and honeysuckle, along with gentle nuances of flinty minerals. Dry to taste, the palate exudes good weight and presence, with rich flavours of apricots, savoury honey, florals and flinty elements. The fruit forms a good core and underlined by grainy phenolic textures providing a robust mouthfeel with drive and some power. Background acidity adds to the energy and drive, and the wine carries to a generous, but dry finish with savoury stonefruit flavours. This is a full and savoury-flavoured, honied, dry Pinot Gris with some texture and presence. Serve with antipasto, poultry and pork dishes over the next 3+ years. Fruit from the ‘Dartmoor’ block, cool-fermented with two yeast strains in stainless-steel to 13.0% alc. and dryness. 17.0+/20 Aug 2014 RRP $20.00
