Moana Park Hawke’s Bay Chardonnay 2013

Chardonnay from New Zealand - Hawke's Bay
Review Date : 11-Jul-2014
Full, even, light golden-hued straw-yellow colour. The nose is full and broad with harmoniously interwoven aromas of ripe citrus and yellow stonefruits that unfold layers of butter and creamy MLF, with lifted vanilla and nutty oak, and nuances of smoke and toast. Medium-full bodied, soft, full and mellow flavours of ripe citrus and tropical fruits are smoothly melded with butter, nutty and vanilla layers. The mouthfeel is creamy and rounded, with soft acidity enhancing the plush, seamless texture. The wine follows a positive core with discreet line and acid, leading to a finely textured, dry finish with nutty and toasty notes. This is a soft, full, ripe and buttery, traditional Chardonnay with toasty oak and vanilla flavours. Match with creamy sauce seafood, poultry and pork dishes over the next 3-4 years. A single vineyard wine, 100% Mendoza clone, fully barrel-fermented to 14.0% alc., the wine aged 12 months on lees with 100% MLF, the French oak 15% new. RRP $23.00
