Bright, golden-yellow with some depth, slightly lighter edged. The nose is gently full, nuances of apple, pear along with stonefruit, melded with crushed rocks, vanilla and toasty oak element. Medium-full bodied, aromas of apple, pear and stonefruit have an elegant core, unveiling citrus pith, vanilla and toasted almonds. There is a creamy layer carries flavours of vanilla biscuits and toasted almonds, contribute to the complexity and interest, leading the toasty oak element throughout the palate. The fruit has weight and balance to the integrated oak, flows along in harmony. This is a toasty Chardonnay with integrated oak leads flavours of apple, pear and stonefruit on a creamy palate. Match with roasted chicken and pies over the next 3-5 years. 100% Mendoza clone from Gimblett Road, handpicked, wild fermented in barrels with high solids to 13.5% alc. Underwent MLF, biweekly battonage, aged in French oak barriques for 14 months, 55% new oak. Unfined, unfiltered. NZVS Vegan Certified. 18+/20 pts (91 pts) Nov 2020 RRP $38
