Moana Park Chardonnay 2018, Hawkes Bay

Chardonnay from New Zealand - Hawke's Bay
Review Date : 28-May-2020
Bright, even medium straw-yellow with some depth. The nose is bustling with aromas of buttery bakings, brioche, nutty oak; underlying energetic citrus fruit, white and yellow stonefruit. Full-bodied, the creamy mouthfeel fills the palate; 100% barrel fermented created some chalky weight and texture. Mouthwatering acidity carries Meyer lemon, pink grapefruit, white peaches; dazzling brioche, nutty nuances mingling with oak spices; the buoyant acidity hauling to a fine finish. This is an approachable, generous style of Chardonnay; full-bodied, creamy textural mouthfeel, buoyant acidity hauling citrus and stone fruit; bracing buttery brioche, nutty and nuance of oak spices. Match with white meat with creamy sauce over the next 3-4 years. Vegan certified. 100% Clone 95, 100% barrel-fermented to 13% alc. Aged in French barriques for 12 months, 25% new oak, full MLF. 17/20pts May2020 RRP$19.95
