Misty Cove ‘Signature’ Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2014

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 16-May-2015
Bright, very pale straw-yellow colour with slight green hues, near colourless on rim. The nose is fresh with brash and tightly bound, penetrating aromas of grassy fruit with cool-spectrum nettle notes, blackcurrant leaf and thirst-quenching minerals. Dry to taste and light-medium bodied, the fruit flavours of grass and gooseberries are entwined with fresh herb, nettle and blackcurrant leaf elements. This is tightly bound, quite elegant in proportion, and the palate is underlined by brisk, mouthwatering acidity. The wine carries along a fine phenolic, textured line leading to a dry, grassy, nettle-like finish. This is a light, dry, tightly held Sauvignon Blanc with cooler grassy, netty and gooseberry flavours. Serve with seafood, salads and vegetables over the next 18 months to 2 years. Hand-picked fruit from the ‘Northbank’ and ‘O’Dwyers’ vineyards, cool-fermented in stainless-steel to 12.0% alc., components of the wine undergoing lees aging. 16.5/20 May 2015 RRP $24.99
