Misty Cove ‘Signature’ Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2012

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 11-Jan-2013
Bright, even straw-yellow colour with slight green hues, pale on rim. This has a full, broad and softly presented bouquet with gooseberry and nectarine fruit aromas along with smoke and flinty reductive elements forming a layered amalgam. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, soft gooseberry fruit flavours form an elegant core. A slightly drying textural thread underlines the fruit with balanced acidity providing a mouthwatering flow. Subtly rich flavours of nectarines, gooseberries and minerals are carried by the phenolics, leading to a light, dry, gooseberry nuanced finish with a moderately sustained finish. This is a softly textured, dry Sauvignon Blanc with gooseberry and mineral notes to match with seafood, poultry and vegetable dishes over the next 2 years. Fruit from the Rapaura sub-region, fermented to 13.0% alc., the wine spending 8 months on lees. 17.5-/20 Jan 2013 RRP $21.50
