Misty Cove ‘Signature’ Central Otago Pinot Noir 2011

Pinot Noir from New Zealand - Otago
Review Date : 21-Mar-2013
Dark ruby-red colour with lighter garnet hues on rim. This has a full, soft and evenly presented nose, somewhat restrained, showing black cherry fruits with lifted violet perfumes, hints of herbs and some minerally elements. Fullish-bodied, this has shy, but sweetly ripe flavours of black cherry fruit on a smooth and flowing palate. The mouthfeel is soft and rounded, with fine-grained, supple tannins and gentle acidity. Some alcohol warmth contributes power and generosity to the palate line, and leads to a light-flavoured, soft finish with moderate length. This is a soft, smooth Pinot Noir with restrained, but sweet flavours and some alcohol drive. Serve with roast duck and pork dishes over the next 4-5 years. Pinot Noir from a Gibbston Valley site, fully destemmed and indigenous yeast fermented to 14.8% alc., the wine aged 11 months in seasoned French oak barrels. 17.5-/20 Mar 2013 RRP $29.99
