Misty Cove Marlborough Pinot Noir 2014

Pinot Noir from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 09-Oct-2014
Moderately deep, dark ruby-red colour with youthful purple hues, lighter on rim. This has a full and soft nose with pure and primary, up-front aromas of ripe, dark raspberries, black cherries and lifted florals, revealing some raspberry liqueur notes with aeration. Medium bodied, full, soft and mouthfilling flavours of raspberries, cherries and plums are the feature on palate. The fruit forms a rounded, densely packed core supported by soft, flowery tannins. The mouthfeel is fleshy with gentle background acidity enhancing the suppleness and accessibility. The wine flows smoothly to a soft textured, plummy finish. This is an easy, accessible Pinot Noir with plenty of up-front flavours of raspberries cherries and plums. Match with antipasto, pasta, poultry and pork over the next 3+ years. Wairau Valley fruit, clones 115, 777, 667, 10/5 and 6 from well-established vines, a high portion hand-picked, destemmed, given a cold soak, and fermented partially with indigenous yeasts to 13.5% alc., the wine on skins 20 days and aged in seasoned French oak. 1,750 dozen made. 16.5+/20 Oct 2014 RRP $16.99
