Moderately deep garnet-red colour with slight brick hues on the rim. The bouquet is softly full and well-packed with aromas of savoury dark-red berry fruits harmoniously melded with a layering of dried herbs, earth, a little undergrowth and game, with subtle red floral lift. Medium-full bodied, the palate has gently sweet flavours of savoury dark-red cherry and berry fruit along with an amalgam of spices, dried herbs and nuances of undergrowth and red florals. The fruit is supported by light, grainy-textured tannin structure and integrated acidity. The mouthfeel grows in extraction which carries the flavours to an elegant, light, nuanced finish. This is a gently sweet, savoury red cherry and berry fruited Pinot Noir with spice, dried herb and undergrowth notes on a fine, textural palate. Match with pasta, mushroom dishes, and wild duck or pork over the next 5+ years. Fruit from a site on Lake Ferry Road fermented to 14.0% alc., the wine spending 14 days 14 days on skins post ferment, the wine aged 5 months in seasoned oak. 17.5+/20 Dec 2017 RRP $20.00
