Mission ‘Vineyard Selection’ Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2017

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 06-Sep-2017
Brilliant, very pale straw colour with slight green hues, near colourless on the rim.  The nose is very taut and concentrated with detailed aromas of cut grass, green capsicums, fresh and dark herbs, intermingling with white florals and nettles.  This is classical Awatere Valley in expression.  Dry to taste and medium-bodied, the palate is elegantly concentrated with tightly bound flavour of cut grass, nettles, green capsicums and fresh herbs.  The fruit is gently sweet and is enlivened by fresh, lacy acidity, and the wine flows along a soft, dry-textured line providing good balance.  This has linearity and carries to a long, lingering finish of nettles and herbs.  This is a finely concentrated, classical Awatere Valley Sauvignon Blanc with cut grass, nettle and herb flavours on a fresh, softly-textured palate.  Serve with salads and vegetables, and Mediterranean fare over the next 2 years.  Fruit from the company’s ’Blind River’ Awatere vineyard, cool-fermented in stainless-steel to 13.1% alc. and 6 g/L RS.  17.5/20  Sep 2017  RRP $20.00
