Mission ‘Vineyard Selection’ Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2013

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 09-Aug-2015
Fruit from the company’s Blind River vineyard, stainless-steel fermented to 13.0% alc. and 3.4 g/L RS, the wine aged on lees. Bright, even, straw-yellow colour with lemon-green hues. This has a soft, full and evenly presented nose with gentle volume of ethereal aromatics, showing cut grass, nettles, gooseberries and hints of secondary bean-like development. Piquant herbal detail emerges with aeration. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, the palate is well-proportioned with smooth and luscious gooseberry, grass and bean flavours. The wine is smooth-flowing and enlivened by gentle acidity that enhances the lifted floral and aromatic notes. The mouthfeel is slippery and very fine in texture, leading to a crisp, lacy finish with moderately sustained grassy flavours. This is a smooth, lush and slippery Sauvignon Blanc with cooler spectrum flavours and the beginnings of secondary development. Serve with Mediterranean fare over the next 18 months to 2 years. 17.0/20 Aug 2015 RRP $17.99
