Mission ‘Vineyard Selection’ Marlborough Pinot Gris 2017

Pinot Gris from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 06-Dec-2017
Bright pale straw-yellow colour, a little lighter on the rim with green hues. The nose is rich with fresh aromas of yellow stonefruits along with slight honeysuckle and lifted yellow floral notes. The aromatics are taut and well-concentrated, revealing mineral elements in the glass. Dry to taste and medium-full bodied, the palate has an elegant, concentrated core of white and yellow stonefruits with lifted florals and subtle notes of honeysuckle and minerals. The mouthfeel is bright and lively with fresh, lacy acidity, and the wine flows with good energy along a soft line, leading to a light, crisp and dry finish of stonefruits and florals. This is an elegantly concentrated dry Pinot Gris with stonefruit, floral and honied flavours on a bright, refreshing palate. Match with seafoof and poultry over the next 3 years. Fruit from the company’s ‘Blind River’ vineyard cool-fermented in stainless-steel to 13.2% alc. and 7.9 g/L RS, the wine aged on lees for a short time. 18.0/20 Dec 2017 RRP $20.00
