Mission ‘Vineyard Selection’ Marlborough Pinot Gris 2015

Pinot Gris from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 10-May-2016
Bright, light golden-yellow colour, a little paler on the rim. This has a very fresh, clear and pure nose of mouthwatering white and yellow stonefruits cut by subtle, steely herbal notes and lifted by subtle white floral elements. Some flinty detail emerges in the glass. Dry to taste and medium-full bodied, the palate is tightly bound, crisp and refreshing, with brisk, mouthwatering acidity alongside light flavour of white stonefruits, white florals and pears. The mouthfeel is enlivened by steely herb and flinty nuances, adding drive and linearity to the palate core. The acidity carries the wine to a light finish with stonefruit, floral and flinty elements. This is a crisp, dry and refreshing Pinot Gris with light and clear stonefruit flavours. Serve with seafood and Asian fare over the next 3 years. Fruit from the company’s Blind River vineyard in the Awatere, cool-fermented in stainless-steel to 13.9% alc. and 4 g/L RS, the wine aged on lees. 16.5/20 May 2016 RRP $20.00
