Mission ‘Vineyard Selection’ Hawke’s Bay Chardonnay 2010

Chardonnay from New Zealand - Hawke's Bay
Review Date : 20-Jul-2011
Bright, deep, lemon-yellow colour with a pale edge. This has a very fine, elegantly proportioned nose with concentrated and rich citrus and mealy fruit with gentle layers of nutty oak and toasty elements that develop. A medium-weighted wine, this has restrained, tautly bound flavours of citrus fruits, complexing mealiness and well-balanced oak showing. There is good acidity and freshness allied to a finely textured and concentrated palate. The finish is long and elegant. Ohiti Road, Gimblett Gravels and Moteo fruit 50% barrique-fermented to 13.3% alc., the wine lees stirred. This is a classically styled, fresh, but complex Chardonnay that will unfold over the next 3-5 years. Match with firm-flesh seafood, poultry and pork. 18.0+/20 Jul 2011 RRP $22.00
