Mission ‘Reserve’ Hawke’s Bay Sauvignon Blanc 2014

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Hawke's Bay
Review Date : 10-Aug-2015
Bright, even, straw-yellow colour, a little lighter on rim. The nose is refined and gentle with soft volume and breadth, showing aromas of white and green stonefruits infused with fresh herbs, delicate flinty lees and chalky minerals. While floral elements emerge in the glass. Medium-full bodied, fresh and stylishly restrained flavours of white and green stonefruits form an elegantly concentrated core. The wine follows a fine-textured palate line with soft, lacy acidity lending a mouthwatering liveliness. Delicate chalky, mineral nuances add detail and the wine flows positively to a long, lingering, herb-nuanced finish. This is an elegantly concentrated Sauvignon Blanc with refined white and green stonefruit flavours and a thirst-quenching line. Serve with herb-marinated seafood and poultry dishes over the next 2+ years. Hawke’s Bay fruit, 92% Sauvignon Blanc and 8% Semillon from Taradale from 36 y.o. vines, fermented in 17% new oak to 14.0% alc. 17.5+/20 Aug 2015 RRP $24.99
