Mission Pinot Gris ‘Lighter in Alcohol’ 2016

Pinot Gris from New Zealand - Other
Review Date : 29-May-2017
Bright, light straw-yellow colour with some depth, lighter on the rim. The nose is soft with aromas of fresh white and yellow stonefruits interwoven with subtle nutty notes and suggestions of honeysuckle. Off-dry to taste and light-medium bodied, the palate has sweet and juicy flavours of white stonefruits with lifted florals, some honeysuckle notes and nutty nuances. The mouthfeel is fresh, with soft, smooth flow, and soft textures balanced with fresh acidity. The wine carries to a light, clean finish of stonefruits and florals. This is an attractively balanced, off-dry, lighter-bodied Pinot Gris with fresh stonefruit, floral and honeysuckle flavours and a smooth palate. Serve as an aperitif and with subtle Asian fare over the next 2 years. Predominantly hand-picked fruit from the ‘Greenmeadows’ vineyard, with some fruit from the company’s ‘Cable Station’ site in the Awatere, fermented in stainless-steel to 10.0% alc. and 8 g/L RS. 16.0-/20 May 2017 RRP $12.00
