Mission Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2016

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 22-Oct-2016
Bright, pale straw-yellow colour, very light on the rim. The nose is fresh and moderately concentrated with an amalgam of pungent passionfruit entwined with gooseberries and nettles, some cut grass, all softly integrated and harmoniously presented. The Awatere origins show. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, the palate is tightly bound with a fresh and zesty, crisp core of passionfruit and gooseberries interwoven with mouthwatering notes of cut grass and nettles. The mouthfeel features a fine-textured wine with underlying acid raciness which carries the flavours with a little grip to a lingering dry finish of passionfruit, gooseberries and grass. This is a tightly bound, refreshingly crisp Sauvignon Blanc showing cooler Awatere flavours on a fine, grainy, dry palate. Serve as an aperitif, with seafood, and salads and vegetables over the next 2 years. Fruit from the company’s Blind River vineyard, cool-fermented in stainless-steel to 12.7% alc. and 5.8 g/L RS. 16.5+/20 Oct 2016 RRP $16.50
