Mission Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2011

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 21-Jun-2012
Brilliant straw-yellow colour with green hues. This has a fresh, voluminous bouquet of gooserries and passionfruit, and now just beginning to show some secondary bean-like development notes. Dry to taste, this is elegantly sized with bright, light flavours of gooseberries, beans and fresh herbs, enlivened by good acidity. The mouthfeel is full and rounded, but there is a faint, underlying textural thread through the palate line. The wine finished with light and zesty passionfruit and mineral flavours. With full bouquet, this is a harmonious Sauvignon Blanc that is beginning to soften. Serve with Asian fare, salads and vegetables over the next 2 years. Fruit from the Rapaura and Southern Valleys districts cool-fermented in stainless-steel to 13.1% alc. and dryness, the wine aged on lees. (500 ml) 16.5/20 Jun 2012 RRP $11.50
