Mission Late Harvest 2016

Sweet Wine from New Zealand - Other
Review Date : 22-Oct-2016
Moderately deep, even, light golden-hued yellow colour. The nose is fresh, gently full, up-front and accessible wit aromas of ripe apricots and stonefruits along with honey and soft musky florals, unveiling a fresh, steely edge of herbs and minerals. Very sweet to taste and light-medium bodied, the palate is gently rich and luscious with flavours of ripe apricots and yellow stonefruits, honey, musk and exotic floral nuances. The mouthfeel is softly textured and gently rounded, the fruit and sweetness balanced by subtle phenolic textures lending a little drying grip. The acidity is soft and integrated, enhancing a degree of unctuousness, and the wine carries to a fresh finish with stylish opulence. This is a softly rich, sweet and honied Late Harvest wine with apricot and musk flavours with a rounded near decadent mouthfeel. Match with fruit desserts over the next 3+ years. Chardonnay, Riesling and Gewurztraminer fruit from different sites fermented to 11.5% alc. and 85 g/L RS. (375 ml) 17.0/20 Oct 2016 RRP $16.50
