Very full, near-saturated, black-red colour with purple hues, the nose is concentrated with densely packed, sweetly ripe aromas of black fruits, savoury plums, fresh herbs, Asian spices and earth. On palate, this has a remarkable combination of elegance of proportion with concentration and depth. There is a core of blackcurrant and plum fruit flavours, lifted with some oak spice and floral notes, framed by very fine-grained, significant extraction. The tannins provide mouthfilling structure and carry through to a very long finish. 54% Cabernet Sauvignon, 39% Merlot and 7% Cabernet Franc, from the Gimblett Gravels fermented to 14.7% alc., the wine was aged in new and 1 y.o. French oak barrels for 18 months. This is a finely constructed wine that has the potential to develop over the next 10-12+ years.
