Mission Hawke’s Bay Syrah 2016

Syrah from New Zealand - Hawke's Bay
Review Date : 30-Jan-2017
Even, dark ruby-red colour with youthful purple hues, lighter on the rim. The nose is fresh with light, vibrant primary fruit aromas of raspberries entwined with cooler spectrum white pepper, fresh herb and dark red floral notes. Light-medium bodied, the palate is light with fresh, up-front, aromatic flavours of raspberries intermingling with white pepper, fresh herbs and lifted red florals. The mouthfeel has gently sweet flavours and modest tannin extraction alongside refreshing, lacy acidity, and the wine flows easily to a light, primary-fruited finish of raspberries and florals. This is a light, up-front and pretty Syrah with raspberry fruit with cooler spectrum white pepper and herb notes, and a fresh mouthfeel. Serve with antipasto, pasta and pizza over the next 2+ years. Fruit from the Bridge Pa Triangle fermented to 12.8% alc., the wine spending up to 27 days on skins and aged in tank with a portion in barrel. 16.0+/20 Feb 2017 RRP $16.50
