Mission Hawke’s Bay Syrah 2011

Syrah from New Zealand - Hawke's Bay
Review Date : 21-Jun-2012
Moderately deep ruby-red colour with some purple hues. The nose is light and attractively fruity with primary aromas of red berry fruit, white pepper and pure violetty perfumes. Light-bodied, softly presented, fresh fruit flavours of red berry fruit, white pepper and subtle floral and spice notes gently unfold. The acidity is discreet and lifts the fruitiness. Modest extraction has resulted in accessibility, suppleness and fruit focus. This is a fruit-driven, light and uncomplicated Syrah to serve with tapas, charcuterie and poultry over the next 2-3+ years. Syrah fruit from Ohiti Road, the Bridge Pa Triangle and Gimblett Gravels fermented to 12.5% alc., the wine spending up to 20 days on skins, bottled with no oaking. (500 ml) 16.0+/20 Jun 2012 RRP $11.50
