Mission Hawke’s Bay Pinot Gris 2014

Pinot Gris from New Zealand - Hawke's Bay
Review Date : 21-Aug-2015
Fruit from Ohiti Road and Church Road, cool-fermented in stainless-steel to 13.3% alc. and 7 g/L RS, the wine aged on lees. Bright straw-yellow colour with pale golden hues, lighter on rim. This has an elegant nose with fresh, clean, mouthwatering and finely expressed aromas of yellow stonefruits harmoniously entwined with yellow florals, lifted exotic fruit nuances. Some savoury stonefruit kernel and nutty hints emerge with aeration. Off-dry to taste and medium-bodied, the fruit flavours of white and yellow stonefruits are up-front and show some lusciousness. The fruit and mouthfeel are enlivened by bright acidity and the wines flows with good energy and tension, leading to a light, dry finish. This is a lively, refreshing, gently luscious off-dry Pinot Gris. Match with most Asian cuisine over the next 2-3 years. 16.5/20 Aug 2015 RRP $15.99
