Mission Hawke’s Bay Late Harvest 2015

Sweet Wine from New Zealand - Hawke's Bay
Review Date : 17-Feb-2016
A blend of 80% Gewurztraminer and 20% Riesling from two Hawke’s Bay sites, cool-fermented to 12.4% alc. and 80 g/L RS, TA 6 g/L and pH 3.64. Moderately deep, light golden-yellow colour, lighter edged. The nose is softly full and gently packed with restrained aromas of rose-petal florals, musk and steely minerals that reveal delicate citrus and honied detail with aeration. Sweet to taste and light-medium bodied, the palate shows soft fruit flavours of rose-petal florals, honey and musk that form a soft, rounded, concentrated core. The mouthfeel is smooth in texture with sweetness balancing the fine textures, and the wine flows with good acid energy, carrying to a long, lingering finish of spices, honey and musk. This is a soft, gently rich, mildly exotic late-harvest dessert wine. Serve as an aperitif, and with fruit desserts over the next 3+ years. (375 ml) 16.5+/20 Feb 2016 RRP $15.99
