Mission Hawke’s Bay Gewurztraminer 2016

Gewurztraminer from New Zealand - Hawke's Bay
Review Date : 22-Oct-2016
Brilliant straw-yellow colour with golden hues and some depth, a little lighter edged. The nose is well-concentrated with intense aromas of root ginger, spices and musk with Turkish Delight, the fir heart unfolding nuances of exotic florals and mineral elements, Medium-dry to taste and medium-full bodied, this has a finely concentrated heart with stylishly restrained flavours of Turkish Delight and root ginger, along with subtle spice and musk elements. The palate is soft-textured with a suggestion of unctuousness, unfolding creaming soda elements. The integrated acidity enhances the roundness, and the palate flows to a soft finish of exotic florals and Turkish Delight. This is a stylishly concentrated medium-dry Gewurztraminer with Turkish Delight and root ginger notes on a soft, near unctuous palate. Match with Middle Eastern fare over the next 3 years. Fruit from Ohiti Road and Taradale, fermented in stainless-steel to 13.5% alc. and 12 g/L RS, the wine aged 3 months on lees. 17.0+/20 Oct 2016 RRP $16.50
