Mission Hawke’s Bay Chardonnay 2016

Chardonnay from New Zealand - Hawke's Bay
Review Date : 30-Jan-2017
Bright straw yellow colour with pale gold hues and some depth, lighter on the rim. The nose is fresh and bright with tightly bound, light aromas of white peaches and citrus fruits, along with nutty and minerally lees elements. The nose is lively and youthfully refreshing. Light-medium bodied, the palate has light and firmly bound, steely flavours of citrus and white stonefruits entwined with subtle notes of minerals. The mouthfeel is taut and brisk and the wine follows a tight, elegant line with underlying crisp acidity, leading to a light, lingering, racy finish. This is a refreshing, bright and crisp Chardonnay with light citrus and white stonefruit flavours and a tight line. Serve as an aperitif and with seafood and poultry over the next 3 years. Predominantly Mendoza and clone 15 fruit fermented to 13.0% alc., the wine given light oak aging and 6 months on lees, without any MLF. 16.5/20 Feb 2017 RRP $16.50
