Deep, transparent ruby-red with a dusty-black hue, lighter on edge. The nose is gently-full with concentration and power, nuances of medicinal herbs, interweave black cherries, blackberries, along with delicate spices and subtle gamey development. Medium-full bodied, the palate is poise, aromas of cherries, blackberries along with dried cranberries integrated with barrel spices, liquorice, dried thyme and developed gamey notes. The palate is silky smooth, mellowed fine-grain tannin suspend a fine structure, very attractive. Well-integrated acidity underlined freshness and endurance to the wine, carries a long lingering finish. This is an integrated Pinot Noir with power, balance and finesse at a beautiful drinking window showing positive development and grace. Match with beef bourguignon and braised pork over the next 4-5 years. The fruit was fermented to 14% alc; the wine spends on average 27 days on skins. Selected barrels from superior ferments after MLF, aged in 300-litre French oak barrels, 43% new oak. 19/20 pts (95 pts) Oct 2020 RRP $75
