Misha’s Vineyard The Starlet Sauvignon Blanc 2023, Central Otago

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Central Otago & Waitaki
Review Date : 07-Nov-2023
Bright, even, pale yellow. The nose is pretty with lush aromas of orchard fruit, guava, citrus, dill and blossom. Medium-bodied, aromas of pear, pink guava, lemon and lime melded with dill, cardamom and pear blossom. The creamy mouthfeel adorned by ripe, dusty phenolics, flows with a poised, lively acid line. This Sauvignon Blanc is elegant with lovely layers of ripe, delicate fruit, spice and a plush mouthfeel. Match with sole fish and whitebait over the next 3+ years. Handpicked fruit, a few hours of skin contact, whole bunch pressed, (64%) free run juice was fermented in stainless steel; the reminding was wild fermented in mostly older French oak barrels, 3% from the tank ferment was taken to a single new oak barrel. 14% alc. 18.5+/20 pts (94 pts) Nov 2023 RRP $32
